The new Brussels Air, Climate and Energy Code (the COBRACE) was published in the Belgian State Gazette on 21 May 2013.

One of the most debated changes introduced by the COBRACE is the restriction of the number of office parking spaces that a company can operate.  The number of office parking spaces authorised through environmental permits will be limited to a maximum quota of allowable parking spaces determined for each accessibility area.

Companies will still have the option of keeping their excess parking spaces, but they will have to pay an environmental tax to do so.
