An extract of aosphere’s cross-border guide to pre-marketing in Europe.

The divergence among member states in their approach to pre-marketing is an issue that we know our asset management clients are grappling with. It is also an issue on the radar of the European authorities.

While the European authorities are currently considering proposals which could harmonise elements of pre-marketing across Europe, these proposals are still to be agreed and then implemented. It is also possible that a harmonised definition of pre-marketing would only apply to certain AIFMs (e.g. EU AIFMs with EU AIFs).

In the light of this, we have updated our cross-border guide so that our asset management clients can continue to access a summary of pre-marketing approaches that apply across Europe in a single place.
