In this video, Serge Hoffmann, Counsel discusses the key trends he has seen develop in the Luxembourg real estate market including the relative performance of different sectors and the shift to defensive assets.
Serge also considers the impact of Covid-19 on lease negotiations and the legal changes which will have a material ongoing impact on real estate investment in Luxembourg. He discusses issues ranging from the impact of Covid-19 temporary measures to the European Green Deal and new legislation imposing restrictions on developers.
A shift to defensive assets has taken place. Investors are more cautious about the risks associated with vacancies and prefer core office assets let to high quality tenants in prime locations which can be sold very easily.
