Italy: future trends and challenges for the real estate market 2021/2022

In this video, Paolo Nastasi, Partner discusses the key trends he has seen develop in the Italian real estate market including the acceleration of transformational processes that had already begun pre Covid-19 and the rise of alternative asset classes.

He also considers legal changes that will have a material ongoing impact on real estate investment in Italy from Covid-19 measures that have shifted the balance of power between landlords and financiers and their tenants to ESG and sustainability.

In most cases the outbreak of Covid-19 mainly accelerated transformational processes that were already on their way. There has been a shift from what operators consider more standard institutional investor assets in favour of alternative asset classes that bring attractive returns with an acceptable degree of risk.
