Inactive entities are about to be removed from the Luxembourg trade and companies register

Following the statement issued by the Luxembourg Ministry of Justice in December 2019[1] , the Luxembourg Business Registers (LBR) confirmed on 13 January 2020 that it will start removing inactive entities from the Luxembourg trade and companies register.

To be considered as “inactive”, the relevant entity must have failed to make any filing with the Luxembourg trade and companies register for at least 10 years.

All concerned entities will be notified in writing and will have one month to give their comments and/or remedy the situation.

Please note that this administrative decision will, however, have no impact on the existence of the entity, which will only end upon the taking of appropriate liquidation or dissolution measures.
