The European Union (EU) and the People’s Republic of China concluded the negotiations on their investment treaty, the EU/China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI), on 30 December 2020.
Although the CAI has raised political objections and its text still needs to be finalised, it is already considered as a ground-breaking investment treaty between two of the biggest trading partners in the world and may represent a substantial opportunity for EU Companies to consider new investments in China.
