On 1 June 2021, the European Public Prosecutor's Office (the EPPO), the new prosecution office at European Union level, officially started its operations. Since then, it already opened more than 300 investigations.
This article, which is a first in a series addressing the EPPO, provides an introduction to the EPPO, an overview of its first months in action, and some key take-aways for the Belgian enforcement practice in relation to financial crime.
