As of 1 February 2024, Sigrid Jansen will be appointed senior partner of Allen & Overy Netherlands. She succeeds Brechje van der Velden, who leaves the firm after 27 years. Sigrid Jansen will jointly manage the Amsterdam office with managing partner Jonathan Heeringa.

Sigrid has been a partner in the restructuring team in Amsterdam since 2012. Since 2021, she has combined this with her role as co-head global restructuring. She will continue to fulfil both roles in addition to her role co-managing the Amsterdam office.

Sigrid Jansen: “I look forward to leading our Amsterdam office together with Jonathan. It is a privilege to guide our partners and staff and to ensure that we advise our clients proactively and in innovative ways. After all, it is a time of complex challenges, such as the energy transition, geopolitical tensions and societal expectations. Moreover, we are about to start a new chapter as a firm: in May we will merge with Shearman & Sterling to become A&O Shearman. An exciting and ambitious move that we want to make a success of, for our clients and our staff."

Sigrid Jansen succeeds Brechje van der Velden, who leaves the firm after 27 years, of which she was senior partner for almost seven years. Van der Velden becomes global general counsel at private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
