Excess liquidity in CEE – borrowers continue to drive the lending market

Allen & Overy has announced the promotion of Miklos Kadar to partner, effective from 1 May 2023. His appointment is part of the partner promotions across Allen & Overy’s global network with 36 new partners representing 13 of the firm’s international offices.

Miklos Kadar has been leading Allen & Overy’s Budapest office since May 2021. He is a member of Allen & Overy’s Global Banking and Finance Group working on financing transactions in the CEE and emerging markets.

Miklos has experience in a range of banking and finance transactions with a focus on complex leveraged finance, margin lending and project finance transactions. Miklos has represented lenders, sponsors, private equity firms, project companies, investors, international financial institutions and multilaterals, mezzanine lenders, sovereign funds and export credit agencies.

Miklos also spent five years working in our Warsaw office on CEE transactions and nearly two years in the London Leveraged Finance Group (B3) working on leveraged buy-outs, public to private deals and margin lending transactions in Western Europe and emerging markets.

Miklos is dual-qualified as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and a Hungarian attorney.

This promotion is a clear indicator that we are strengthening our position on the Hungarian legal market and reinforcing our presence in the CEE region. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Miklos for all his contributions to the development and management of the Budapest office over the past two years. Congratulations!
