Legal 500 recognized a total of 24 A&O U.S. practice areas and 20 U.S. based lawyer recognitions in its annual survey, The Legal 500 United States 2023. The 2023 edition also recommends more than 20 lawyers as leading practitioners.

Six A&O practice areas were ranked for the first time:

  • Energy Regulation: Electric Power – Tier 4 
  • Intellectual Property – Patents: litigation – Firms to Watch 
  • Labour and Employment – Employee benefits, executive compensation and retirement plans: transactional – Firms to Watch
  • Media, Technology and Telecoms: Outsourcing – Tier 4
  • Projects: Infrastructure and PPP – Tier 1 
  • Projects: Energy and Power – Tier 1

The following practice areas rose in rankings:
