NEW YORK – Julian Moore, a veteran prosecutor, will be joining Allen & Overy as a partner in the New York office. Moore will join the litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution practice and work closely with a wide range of A&O teams to support the firm’s regional and global growth

Moore is joining from K2 Intelligence, an investigative and advisory service firm, where he served as a Senior Managing Director. His prior experience involves large-scale, high-profile investigations including both international and U.S. domestic legal disputes. Moore has also held various senior public service positions throughout his career, including Deputy Attorney General for New York State, Deputy Chief of Investigations for the Moreland Commission to Investigate Public Corruption, and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) where he most recently was a member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit.  At the SDNY, he was a lead prosecutor in the investigation of the Bernard L. Madoff Ponzi Scheme, the largest financial crime in history, as well as a special appointee to the Mortgage Fraud Strike Force formed following the 2008 financial crisis.

A&O U.S. senior partner Tim House said: “Banks, corporations, high-profile individuals and other parties continue to be named targets, witnesses or data providers in major U.S. investigations. As a result, our clients and industry groups continue to recognize the premium on professionals with seasoned investigative backgrounds. Julian’s experience as a prosecutor and an esteemed public servant will greatly contribute to A&O's capability and commitment to serving its clients in this critical area across the U.S.

Global head of Litigation Karen Seward said: "Julian’s high profile in-house expertise is an excellent fit for our global practice.  He is perfectly positioned to help us respond to the increasing client demand for sensitive advice on risks such as money laundering and financial crime, bribery and corruption – areas which are salient risks for any board."

A&O senior partner Wim Dejonghe added: “One of our highest strategic priorities is building our presence in the U.S. and our immediate focus is on lateral hires. Our international platform coupled with our truly integrated offering are what set us apart. We are pleased to be welcoming Julian to the partnership at a time of great momentum and growth.

Moore has been awarded a number of distinctions throughout his career, including being named in Crain’s New York Business “40 Under 40” list in 2016. Currently, Moore is Vice Co-Chair of the Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Board Governance Committee for The Trevor Project, a leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) people under 25, as well as being a lifelong member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Moore received his A.B. degree cum laude from Harvard College in 1998 and his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2001.
