Global antitrust partners recognised in Global Competition Review’s Women in Antitrust 2021

Elaine Johnston and Marta Sendrowicz, partners in our global antitrust team, are singled out for their experience and achievements in Global Competition Review’s recently published Women in Antitrust 2021.

The publication recognises female private practitioners, enforcers, in-house counsel, economists and academics for their outstanding contribution to the international antitrust community. This edition attracted a record number of nominations and honours over 130 women. All women included were invited to give antitrust-specific advice or observations to junior colleagues starting out in antitrust.

Elaine is co-head of our global antitrust team and heads our U.S. antitrust practice, based in New York. She has practised as an antitrust lawyer for over 30 years. Among Elaine’s key advice to young female lawyers is to remember that “practice is all about your clients, so take the time to learn their business and understand their priorities.” Read her full profile in GCR here.

Marta heads our Warsaw antitrust team, and runs our CEE-wide antitrust practice. She has been part of the antitrust world for over 25 years, including time as an academic in Warsaw University’s Law Faculty. At the beginning of her career in the early 1990s, antitrust law was relatively new in Poland, and Marta points to that fact as having enabled women to make a space for themselves in the Polish antitrust world with the required “confidence and courage”. Her full GCR profile is here.

Both Elaine and Marta also featured in the previous edition of the publication in 2016.
