Keynote conference marks 10 year anniversary of the Jevons Institute, policy forum on competition law and industry regulation.

The Jevons Institute for Competition Law and Economics at University College London will organise its 10th anniversary colloquium on 3 June 2016 at the Bibliothèque Solvay in Brussels, organised and moderated by Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg and visiting professors Antonio Bavasso (UCL Jevons Institute/Allen & Overy) and David Evans (UCL Jevons Institute/Global Economics Group).

The conference theme is the role of economic and effects, analysis in antitrust law and future challenges.  Jacques Steenbergen of the Belgian Competition Authority will open the conference followed by keynote addresses from European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager and Handong Zhang of the National Development & Reform Commission Antitrust Bureau, PRC. Roundtable discussions throughout the conference will hear from antitrust enforcers, economists and judges, including Renata Hesse of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, Alex Chisholm of the Competition & Markets Authority, Bruno Lasserre of the French Competition Authority, Sir Peter Roth of the UK Competition Appeals Tribunal, Jacqueline Riffault-Silk of the French Cour de Cassation and Howard Shelanski of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, The White House. Sen Mario Monti of the Italian Senate and Bocconi University will give the closing remarks.
