A&O launches collaborative due diligence platform
11 February 2019
Allen & Overy has launched ReportRoom, a bespoke, collaborative platform that streamlines multi-office due diligence reviews and enhances the client reporting experience across its global Corporate practice.
ReportRoom is based on a platform created by Wizdocs, a California-based legal software company, and was extensively configured with feedback from A&O’s experienced M&A lawyers and Legal Technology Group. A&O is the first firm to globally implement this market-leading technology.
ReportRoom is a secure, online platform hosted within A&O’s own IT infrastructure. Using this bespoke A&O solution, everyone working on a report can review and edit sections simultaneously and benefit from easy two-way communication between reviewers and coordinators. Deal coordinators can manage the deal team, field questions from lawyers and monitor their review progress in real time. In this way, report coordination moves away from email to a user-friendly, online platform with flexible reporting to support clients' specific needs.
For reviewing lawyers, ReportRoom guides them through the diligence process and presents relevant legal resources curated by A&O’s experienced lawyers. The platform’s data filtering functionality enables earlier identification of issues and enhances collation of analysis and data capture, automating the creation of fully formatted diligence reports.
Global co-head of Corporate, Dirk Meeus comments: "ReportRoom is a great example of our Advanced Delivery offering transforming mainstream legal work to enhance our service to clients and the experience of our lawyers. Moving our due diligence process to this platform shows how we integrate technology to streamline collaboration across our network and harness new tools to assist our seamless delivery of multi-jurisdiction transactions."
