Allen & Overy (“A&O”) today announced that Josh Birenbaum has joined the firm as partner in its Private Equity practice. Josh joins A&O’s Los Angeles office from Winston & Strawn LLP, where he served as partner in the Private Equity Group. 

Josh advises clients on complex matters related to both public and private companies and across  mergers & acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, strategic acquisitions and equity financings. Josh’s expertise spans a broad range of industries, including technology, consumer products and services, manufacturing (including automotive, aerospace and defense) and healthcare. 

Josh’s arrival continues A&O’s expansion across the U.S. and is the firm’s 42nd U.S. lateral partner hire in the last two years.

Josh graduated as a Distinguished Honor Graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point, progressing to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
