A&O advises Schumacher Packaging on the acquisition of Cartiere Modesto Cardella

Allen & Overy has advised Schumacher Packaging GmbH, a company specialising in the production of paper-based packaging based in Ebersdorf, Germany, and operating in several European countries, on the acquisition of a controlling stake of Cartiere Modesto Cardella SpA, a paper manufacturer based in San Pietro a Vico, Tuscany, mill since 1946. The Cardella family maintains a relevant shareholding and will continue to manage the company. 

The completion of the transaction and the synergies that will be developed together with the Schumacher Group will strengthen the company and will give access Cartiere Modesto Cardella to the wider European market of paper-based packaging.

Allen & Overy advised in relation to the negotiation and completion of the acquisition, as well as in relation to the shareholders’ agreements focusing on ESG aspects with a team led by partner Paolo Nastasi, supported by associates Giorgio Savo and Davide Biasotti and trainee Davide Cinefra.
