Allen & Overy is advising Lamda Hellix, southeastern Europe’s leading colocation provider, on its acquisition by Interxion, a Digital Realty company and a leading European provider of carrier and cloud neutral colocation data centre solutions.

Lamda Hellix is the largest carrier-neutral colocation provider in Greece, headquartered in Athens, an emerging colocation gateway at the crossroads of Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. It offers best-in-class cloud and colocation services while also serving as a hub connecting telecoms, customers and partners. Its state-of-the-art data centre campus in Athens is the largest in southeastern Europe and the most interconnected in Greece. The acquisition further enhances Digital Realty’s global footprint, which spans more than 700 connectivity providers in over 280 data centres across 22 countries.

Lamda Hellix’s management team will remain with the business, including its founder and current CEO and Chairman Apostolos Kakkos, who will continue to oversee operations in the region.

A&O partner Will Samengo-Turner, who led on the transaction comments: “This deal recognises Lamda Hellix’s market-leading position, as well as Greece’s growing role as an important investment destination and hub for data infrastructure. We were very pleased to lend our expertise in this sector to bear on the transaction.”

Senior associate Eimear Coady also advised on this transaction.
