A cross-border team from Allen & Overy has advised Grup Mediapro in relation to the refinancing of its existing syndicated debt facilities with a EUR500m long-term loan.

Grup Mediapro is a leading group in the audiovisual sector who is active in four continents, specialising in content production, audiovisual services provision, media rights management and the development of digital and innovation projects. The refinancing will see Grup Mediapro strengthen its balance sheet by extending its average debt life.

In London, the A&O team was led by partners Adam Zecharia and Neil Sinha and senior associate James Green. The Madrid team was led by partner Ignacio Ruiz-Camara with partner Adolfo Zunzunegui providing specialist tax advice. In Luxembourg, the team was led by partner Pierre Schleimer alongside counsels Andreas Hommel and Alann Le Guillou and senior associate Nicolas Madelin with counsel Guilhèm Becvort advising on the tax aspects.

This transaction follows on from the recent recapitalisation A&O advised Grup Mediapro on in June 2022, which saw Grup Mediapro agree a refinancing plan involving a capital increase of EUR620 million. Partners Ignacio Ruiz-Camara and Javier Castresana in Madrid and Nick Charlwood, Adam Zecharia and Neil Sinha in London led the A&O team on that transaction.

Other lawyers on this transaction were: associates Dhruv Mairal, Sykes Mitchell, Bruce Rennie and Magdalena Wistuba and trainees Andre-Pierre Cronje and Rebecca Fennessy in London; associates Laura Cabezas, Maria Ruiz-Gollury, Marina Jimenez and Marina Granada and trainee Maria Ramos in Madrid and associates Alysson Havard, Victor Ferreira and Julie Kofler in Luxembourg.
