A&O advises Ares Management on financing for co-living residential apartments in Europe

Allen & Overy has advised Ares Management on its Alternative Credit fund’s financing for the acquisition and refurbishment of affordable co-living apartments in major urban centres across Western Europe.

The fund has committed to financing up to EUR1 billion for the project and is helping to advance the creation of high-demand housing in key urban locations.

Partner Hayden Cameron commented: “This was an exciting transaction to work on as the establishment of a pan-European residential platform is a new and innovative product. This investment will help to address the demand for affordable housing in the region while focusing on reducing carbon impact.”

A total of 14 partners and 31 fee earners across seven jurisdictions from A&O advised on this deal. The team comprised partner Hayden Cameron in Dubai, partner Xavier Jancene in Paris, partner Patrick Mischo in Luxembourg, senior associate Lucy Goodwin in London, senior associate Stephanie Yiolitou in Luxembourg and associates Antoine Gueche and Valentine Henry in Paris.
