Allen & Overy wins ‘IFLR Czech Republic Law Firm of the Year’ award for the third time
05 April 2019
Allen & Overy received the “IFLR Czech Republic Law Firm of the Year” award at the 20th Annual IFLR European Awards gala.
International Financial Law Review (IFLR) is the industry leader for awarding legal innovation. A&O Prague has been recognised, amongst other things, for its advisory role on the unprecedented exchange and tender offers and new issuance by NET4GAS and first-of-its kind Czech law bond issuance and offering by Liberty One Methanol LLC. Both deals were also shortlisted as frontrunners for the overall win in the Europe-wide ‘Debt/Equity-linked’ Deal of the Year category.
This is the third award A&O Prague has been presented with by IFLR in the past six years for its market-leading approach to legal innovation in the Czech Republic. In 2017, the team received the “Law Firm of the Year in the Czech Republic” IFLR award for its advisory role on the issuance and offering of secured bonds of the Polish MCI group under Czech law, and in 2013 for its role in the establishment of the first ever international programme for issuance of covered bonds by a Czech bank (Raiffeisenbank).
Last year A&O was named winner of the “Capital Markets” category at the Czech Law Firm of the Year awards 2018 organised by EPRAVO.CZ, an independent company monitoring the activities of lawyers and law firms in the Czech Republic.
Petr Vybíral, head of A&O Prague capital markets practice, commented: “Having received this award three times is very gratifying. I would like to thank each member of our team for their hard work and dedication.”
Prokop Verner, managing partner of the Prague office, added: “The award confirms A&O as a distinct player offering unsurpassed legal innovation to maximise the benefits for our clients. This is a winning formula for our team’s continued success.”
