Allen & Overy announces new U.S. senior leadership

Allen & Overy (A&O) today announced that Chad Lavallee has joined the firm as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for the U.S., based in the New York office. With more than 20 years of experience, Chad will oversee A&O’s U.S. Human Resources department, leading the firm’s hiring strategies and workplace culture.

Chad joins from Withers Bergman LLP where he served as the U.S. Head of Human Resources and directed all aspects of the department. Chad brings a depth of experience managing human resources across global law firms, which will be key to the firm’s hybrid working environment. His oversight of corporate and social responsibility and other strategic initiatives will be instrumental in the execution of strategic initiatives that support firm objectives.

“A&O greatly values the well-being of all employees, and we are thrilled to welcome Chad Lavallee to serve as a leader of our U.S. HR deparment,” said Tim House, U.S. senior partner. “Chad’s extensive experience in HR leadership will support the continued growth of our U.S. practice. It is essential to have a robust team in place that manages the needs and responsibilities of an expanding business, and Chad is the right person to do this alongside our partners and firm leadership.”

Maintaining morale, providing key resources, and ensuring the firm’s business objectives align with the needs of personnel is a major priority for the firm and the human resources department. A&O recently announced the hiring of Dennis Quinio as Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer for the Americas, further demonstrating the firm’s commitment to these initiatives.

Chad commented, “I am excited to join a renowned firm that is committed to the success of their people like Allen & Overy. I look forward to working closely with everyone at the firm and ensuring our culture is of the utmost importance.”

Prior to his role at Withers Bergman, Chad served as the Executive Director of Human Resources at Morgan Stanley and began his career at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
