At the same time, the existing financing was replaced and refinanced. The debt capital, a unitranche loan and super senior revolving credit facility provided by CVC Capital Partners will now, among other things, finance the acquisition of Arden Grange, a leading premium petfood brand in the United Kingdom.
The acquisition of Arden Grange offers great potential for further growth, the further internationalization of the AlphaPet platform as well as synergy potential due to AlphaPet's strong direct to consumer know-how. With the acquisition, AlphaPet, based in Munich, further strengthens its position as a leading digital premium pet food platform with strong multi-channel distribution and positions itself as a strong player in the European market with projected sales of over EUR 150 million in 2022.
In addition to the existing equity investors capiton, Reimann Investors and Venture Stars, CVC Capital Partners is providing debt support for this and other acquisition financings of AlphaPet.
The Allen & Overy team was jointly led by partner Dr Walter Uebelhoer and senior associate Dr Rauni Ahammer (both Banking & Finance, Munich) and comprised further partner Dr Heike Weber and Associate Dr Manuel Köchel (both Tax). Senior associate Karen Zoettel (Banking & Finance, all Frankfurt) advised on English law matters.
