Allen & Overy has advised SAP SE (SAP), a market leader in enterprise application software, on the acquisition of Askdata, a startup focused on search-driven analytics.
With the acquisition of Askdata, SAP strengthens its ability to help organizations take better-informed decisions by leveraging AI-driven natural language searches. Users are empowered to search, interact and collaborate on live data to maximize business insights.
Askdata’s IP will become part of SAP® Business Technology Platform and contribute to a next-generation lightweight analytics experience for SAP Analytics Cloud solution customers and to line-of-business applications.
The Allen & Overy cross-border team on the deal was led by partners Alexander Veith in Germany and Paolo Ghiglione in Italy, with associate Davide Biasotti. The Italian team also comprised partner Livio Bossotto, senior associate Claudio Chiarella and associate Elena Cirotti (Employment), senior associate Margherita Banfi (IP), partner Emilio De Giorgi (Antitrust), counsel Luca Amicarelli and associate Stefania Casini (Public Law) and partner Francesco Guelfi (Tax).
