Allen & Overy has advised Mediobanca as Green Structuring Advisor and Global Coordinator and the Joint Bookrunners - Mediobanca, Société Générale and UniCredit – on Banca Mediolanum inaugural issuance of a Green Senior Preferred Bond for a total amount of EUR300 million maturing in January 2027.
The green bond is dedicated exclusively to institutional investors and was carried out under the EUR1 billion Euro Medium-Term Note programme established in September 2022.
The bond follows the principles outlined in the Green, Social & Sustainability Bond Framework, which is aligned with the ICMA - International Capital Market Association principles and obtained a second party opinion from ISS ESG.
The A&O team was led by International Capital Markets partners Cristiano Tommasi and Craig Byrne, supported by associate Edoardo Brugnoli and trainee Francesco Laurenti. Counsel Elia Ferdinando Clarizia and associate Simona Simone advised on the tax aspects.
