Allen & Overy is advising A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk) on the acquisition of LF Logistics for USD 3.6 billion. LF Logistics is a Hong Kong-based contract logistics company, with premium capabilities within omnichannel fulfilment services, e-commerce and inland transport in the Asia-Pacific region.
As part of the agreement to acquire LF Logistics, Maersk will enter a strategic partnership with Li & Fung (the majority owner of LF Logistics) to develop logistics solutions. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to take place in 2022.
Partner Will McAuliffe commented, “We are very proud to be advising Maersk on this landmark strategic acquisition. The transaction involved most of our extensive network of offices throughout the APAC region as well as our offices in the US and the UK. We are very pleased to assist Maersk in significantly expanding its capabilities in the logistics sector in the APAC region.”
The cross-border Allen & Overy team advising on the transaction was led by partner Will McAuliffe in Hong Kong with support from partner David Norman, senior associate Matt Gee, associates Mona Yip and Joyce To and trainee Hiu Wing Kwok. The broader A&O transaction team included a large number of partners and associates across 10 jurisdictions. Allen & Overy’s antitrust team, led by partner François Renard, is advising on the necessary merger approvals.
