Allen & Overy LLP has advised NORD Holding Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft mbH on the acquisition of a majority stake in Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG.  The transaction involved an investment by WMS Wachstumsfonds Mittelstand Sachsen.  The Födisch family as well as the founder and CEO Dr Holger Födisch also remain shareholders of the company.  The aim is to expand the market position and to continue the successful growth course of recent years together with NORD Holding and WMS.

With over 50 years of history and assets under management of EUR 2.5 billion, Hanover-based NORD Holding is one of the leading private equity asset management companies in Germany.  NORD Holding focuses on direct investments and fund of funds investments.  For NORD Holding, the investment in Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG, a leading manufacturer of emission technology for monitoring environmentally harmful gases, dust, and volume flows, marks the third investment in the greentech and cleantech sector.  This underlines the investment strategy of focusing on sustainability technologies and benefiting from long-term megatrends such as the necessary increase in resource and energy productivity and the reduction of environmental pollution.

The Allen & Overy team was led by partner Dr Nils Koffka (Corporate/M&A/Private Equity, Hamburg) and comprised partner Dr Walter Uebelhoer (Banking & Finance, Munich), senior associate Dr Marcus Mackensen, associates Maximilian Steinhoff (both Corporate/M&A/Private Equity, both Hamburg) and Dr Jörg Weber (Banking & Finance, Munich) as well as transaction officer Dario Barbato (Corporate/M&A/Private Equity, Hamburg).

NORD Holding was advised in-house by Andreas Bösenberg, Martin Scheffler and Marcel Rosengarten.
