Allen & Overy elects Wim Dejonghe as senior partner and Andrew Ballheimer as managing partner

​Allen & Overy LLP partners have elected Wim Dejonghe as senior partner and Andrew Ballheimer as managing partner with effect from 1 May 2016.

Wim will succeed David Morley who will retire at the end of April following the completion of two terms as senior partner and Andrew will succeed Wim Dejonghe, following the completion of two terms as managing partner.
 
David Morley, retiring Senior Partner, commented: "I would like to congratulate Wim and Andrew on their appointment as senior partner and managing partner. Wim Dejonghe joined Allen & Overy as a partner in 2001 having previously been a partner at Loeff Claeys Verbeke since 1993. He has practised law in the United States (New York and Washington) and in Spain (Barcelona). Wim was previously managing partner of Allen & Overy's Antwerp and Brussels offices and co-head of the Global Corporate Department.
 
Andrew Ballheimer started his career as an associate at Allen & Overy in 1987. He made partner in 1994 in the corporate practice and worked in both the Tokyo and New York offices of A&O before returning to London in 2003. Since 2010 Andrew has been Co-Head of the Global Corporate practice and has extensive experience in corporate finance specialising in complex cross-border M&A and ECM work.
