Pride month in the Warsaw office
Pride Month serves as a worldwide celebration of diversity and the LGBTQ+ community. In Poland its aim is to increase the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community and the recognition of this community’s basic rights.
On this occasion we remind the public of the demand for marriage equality and call on government officials to address the problems LGBTQ+ people face, such as exclusion and hate crimes.
In the recently published ILGA-Europe’s Rainbow Europe Map and Index, which has been ranking 49 European countries in terms of LGBTQ+ laws and policy for over a decade, Poland was ranked 42, which is still one of the worst results among EU member states.
We believe that our role as LGBTQ+ allies is to stand in unity with the queer community and show our support for their causes. We are engaging in discussions on the situation facing LGBTQ+ people in Poland and calling on our elected officials to create an accepting and supportive environment for the LGBTQ+ community in public spaces. Clearly, something must be done to reverse the statistics and to see Poland at the top of the Rainbow Index in the future, and not at the bottom.

Seminar with Nowe Horyzonty/Movie projection with Nowe Horyzonty
On 2 June 2023 at 17:00 CET, in collaboration with Nowe Horyzonty, we are organising a screening of the movie "Blisko" along with a lecture contributed by Dr. Robert Pruszczyński and a discussion at our office.
Supporting Trans-Fuzja
During the first week of June at the A&O office in Warsaw we will be raising money for Trans-Fuzja, an NGO that plays a crucial role in advocating for the rights and well-being of transgender individuals in Poland.
Warsaw Equality Parade
On Saturday 17 June 2023, the famous Warsaw Equality Parade will march (or rather dance) proudly through the streets of Warsaw for the 22nd time. We will be assembling a group of A&O Warsaw LGBTQ+ allies and members eager to participate in this one-of-a-kind event.

The Diversity & Inclusion Group is devoted to ensuring that our office provides an inclusive working environment where everyone feels valued, respected and supported, and where individuality and diversity are encouraged.
Building a more diverse and inclusive environment is part of A&O’s global strategy and has always been considered a key value in our office. Nevertheless, there is still a lot more we can do together and we are fully committed to making this our priority.
