Louise Morris

I started with the firm in 1990 as a fresh-faced college leaver, joining the Litigation department as a secretary. In 1996, after getting itchy feet, I left the firm to go travelling. I rejoined Allen & Overy's Projects department in 1997, where I spent another eight years working for a partner and various associates. In 2005, my feet were itching again and I moved to Dubai, joining Allen & Overy's office in the sand. The Dubai office was certainly a contrast to London – 25 people as opposed to a few thousand.

After many years as a secretary (or Legal Professional Assistants as they are now known), then a Senior Support Supervisor, I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to move across into Business Services and I'm now the Senior Business Services Manager. The role is certainly challenging and interesting, and there is a never a dull day. When I first walked through the doors of 9 Cheapside, little did I realise I would still be working for the firm 21 years later, having swapped trains and tubes for the desert and camels.
