Business Development and Marketing
The Business Development and Marketing department provide a global capability of effective, co-ordinated and decisive advice. In order to achieve this we require high quality support for Allen & Overy's activities.
As with all our shared services functions, Business Development is a key component in driving the business forward and enhancing our reputation for excellence and innovation.
The Business Services Department covers a very wide variety of disciplines both locally and internationally. Across all areas, we seek to achieve the highest level of service and support for our internal customers and our clients. This is achieved by recruiting and retaining the best people. Business Services includes document production, print room, reception and front of house, mail room, catering, property projects, procurement and stationery, and security / health & safety.

As with all our shared services functions, the Finance Department is a key component in driving the business forward and our team comprises a group of talented finance professionals. Allen & Overy is committed to providing training and development for Shared Services staff through both direct experience and formal training programs.
Providing a full Human Resources service to our partners, lawyers and shared services staff is a vital part of our business. The HR function at Allen & Overy Spain plays an important strategic and facilitating role in attracting, motivating, developing and retaining the best possible quality lawyers and staff at all levels.
Allen & Overy relies on the quality of its advanced IT services and systems, and on the dedication of its highly professional IT staff.
Our IT support officers and trainers are responsible for providing technical support and providing computer training to all staff. The IT team closely communicates and works with other offices. We offer first-rate support and training and the opportunities associated with working for a global legal practice, such as working in one of our other offices.
Our commitment to excellence and our knowledge-sharing ethos is reflected in our approach to the development of our people. Our Know-how team works closely with our lawyers to equip them with the resources and skills to respond effectively and efficiently to client needs, both on- and off-deal. The team works to increase the awareness of best practice in knowledge management so that all staff can become more adept at creating, sharing and capturing know-how.
Our Know-how professionals also work alongside our training team to ensure that our staff have access to local and international learning and development programs which not only focus on areas required to maintain a successful business but also lay the foundations of personal career-long development.
Legal Professional Assistant (Legal PAs)
The role of a Legal PA at Allen & Overy, is exciting, challenging and rewarding. Working alongside the leading lawyers Allen & Overy recognizes that Legal PAs are an important part of the team. Learning & development
We’re passionate about providing top quality training and development for all our support staff. Our aim is to become 'the world's most advanced law firm' and our people are key to achieving this goal. With this end in mind, we have created the A&O Support Academy.
Its aim is to provide our support staff professionals globally with the leadership, management and business skills needed to succeed and reach their full potential. Designed in conjunction with our Support Faculty and delivered by a mix of internal and external facilitators, the programmes are specifically tailored to the every-day work reality and challenges of support staff professionals at A&O.
The Academy can be joined at any point in your career, from foundation, through advanced and up to mastery level. Many of the programmes are offered on a regional basis to enable everyone globally to attend and network with their peers from other offices.
Our Madrid office is on Serrano Street, next door to Paseo de la Castellana, the financial and business centre of Madrid with embassies, banks and government buildings in its surroundings. The building was designed to our specifications and provides a modern, stylish place to do business, flooded with natural light. As well as extensive meeting rooms and comfortable office space.
Our Barcelona office is located in Mestre Nicolau Street inside an area easy reach of the centre of the city with fantastic views over the city.
