When I completed my Master of Jurisprudence programme in Oxford University in 2004, I developed an interest for banking and finance and one of my core electives was International Finance. As a pioneer in finance law, Allen & Overy stood out as a natural career choice for me.
In September 2005, I joined the Allen & Overy Moscow team as a junior banking lawyer. Right from the start, I was forefront of the development of the Russian finance practice, as we worked on syndicated loans, securitisations and other structured finance in a market that was still learning to employ such solutions.
Following the birth of my first daughter in early 2013 and my second daughter in 2015, the Moscow partners were willing to accommodate my request to work part-time as a transaction lawyer so I could spend more time with my children.
Although it can sometimes be challenging to combine family, work (even part-time) and quite extensive studies, the encouragement and support from the Moscow partners has been overwhelming. Allen & Overy makes practising law a really enjoyable experience.
