Experienced lawyers
Embrace every challenge in a career that brings out the best in your work – and you.
Our team in Casablanca is fully integrated into Allen & Overy’s global network, complementing our wider African capability which includes our office in South Africa and our global Africa Group comprising over hundred lawyers worldwide.
We have a solid, good-sized local team, comprising around 25 fee earners, including three partners with English-, French- and Arabic-language capabilities, and all permanently based in Casablanca. Our lawyers have been involved in complex national and cross-border M&A transactions and in most large-scale, high-profile transactions that have been undertaken in Morocco during the last 20 years and have established close working relationships with regulators, government departments, investors and leading corporate organisations across the region and in all sectors.
Practice areas
Capital Markets
We advise underwriters, arrangers and issuers on all aspects of international capital markets transactions. Among our clients are all the major international financial institutions and corporations, based in Europe and worldwide. Acting as counsel to the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), we are ideally placed to advise our clients on derivative trades involving sophisticated set-off and netting mechanisms and complex collateral arrangements.
Corporate and M&A
Our global Corporate practice undertakes many of the most high-profile and complex multi-jurisdictional transactions. With over 900 lawyers worldwide, and 76% of those lawyers being based outside of London, this practice works together as one on behalf of clients who include many of the world's leading corporations, financial institutions and government bodies—as well as smaller growing businesses.
Mergers and acquisitions underpin this practice but our lawyers also advise on all aspects of company and commercial law and corporate finance—including public takeovers, international equity offerings, private equity, joint ventures and strategic alliances, company establishment and corporate restructurings, and day-to-day corporate and regulatory advice.
Litigation
Our international network is ideally placed to handle the growing number of cross-border and multi-jurisdictional disputes requiring highly integrated advice, brought about by the globalisation of business. It’s this ability to manage disputes around the world and coordinate cross border proceedings that persuades many of our clients to instruct us.
