Jiran Liu 

I began my career with A&O as a trainee in London in 2014. After spending my last trainee seat in Tokyo, I qualified into the banking department in Tokyo and have remained as an associate here in Tokyo since. 

During my time in Tokyo, I have been fortunate enough to work on a number of high-profile and complex matters in the oil & gas, energy and infrastructure sectors, working with multiple offices across the network and with market-leading clients around the globe.

As I progress through my career and thanks to a team that actively explores and nurtures our business in the greater China market, I developed a focus on transactions involving Chinese sponsors and financial institutions with an anchor in the project financing sphere, tapping further into my linguistic and previous Chinese legal background.

Everyday I think about my career at A&O as a challenging but rewarding ride. Challenging because the work constantly exposes you to some of the most large-scale and complicated deals in the PF world – making everyday an addition to the learning curve. Yet it is rewarding, as it immerses you in a environment where you learn from and laugh with the industry's most brilliant and inspiring individuals. I pride myself on being a part of A&O, where we share the value of working collaboratively and striving for delivering the best quality for our client.
