Students and graduates
All those seminars and study groups. Same path, different journeys. A team that goes the distance. It’s Time.
Right from the start of your journey with us, you’ll be involved in structured and multijurisdictional matters, working in a dynamic environment with a team of professionals specialised in the main areas of law.
What we offer
Our two Italian offices are always looking for talented graduates with the highest class of degree.
We’re also interested in students currently completing their university studies or who have achieved a Master’s (LLM) and graduates in economics for our tax department.
A growing career in one of the top international legal practices offers the opportunity to participate in a first class level training programme, acquire global experience, work on agreements unique within the sector and learn from lawyers who are leaders in their field. The expertise of our local team together with the global reach of our Allen & Overy network is the ideal environment to reach your full potential, and more.
Candidates must have an excellent capacity to work on their own initiative as well as a positive attitude to teamwork. In addition to a top degree mark, work experience and any experience abroad is also important.
During the practical training period, our trainees will actively participate in research and due diligence activities (i.e. corporate analysis aimed at merger and acquisition operations), as well as writing legal opinions, drafting agreements and offering/listing documentations.
Our Milan and Rome offices offer an open, friendly and "keen to help" environment will help you adapt to the Italian work culture.
The Milan office is situated in the business and fashion district, near the Duomo, the world's largest Gothic cathedral. In a short walk you could reach the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II arcade, the Theatre La Scala, the 15th century Sforzesco Castle's Museum of Historic Art and the Gallery of Modern Art. The Pinacoteca di Brera and the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie (which is home to Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting, The Last Supper) are also close to the office.
The Rome office is located in the landmark building of Palazzo Sforza Cesarini, in the heart of the city close to Piazza Navona and The Vatican.
Both offices host a Christmas gathering for all staff and employees and often organize drinks and team gatherings, off-site events and sport sponsored tournaments.
Learning and development
The development of our graduates, junior lawyers, through to Senior Associate level practitioners and partners, is extremely important to us; and whilst qualifying as a lawyer is an important milestone, it is only part of your professional development at Allen & Overy.
