Students and graduates in Beijing and Shanghai
It’s always asking why. Question. Challenge. It’s reaching the bar and then raising it. It’s Time.
At Allen & Overy we recruit exceptionally talented, dedicated people to work at the forefront of global businesses. You’ll be part of headline-making, precedent-setting deals, get outstanding training and development, and be mentored by some of the world’s most respected legal experts.
We’re a diverse group of people united by a common outlook, and you don’t need a law degree to apply. But if you want a challenging, exciting career that will push you outside your comfort zone, we want to hear from you.
What we offer
We offer unrivalled training and experiences to take you beyond technical excellence and set you up for wherever your career takes you. An internship is the best way to experience who we are and how we work. You’ll enjoy in-depth practical, hands-on experience while working alongside associates and trainees on real deals and active cases. You’ll also attend various in-house workshops and regular training sessions that will make the most of your potential. All while having fun and making friends as part of our supportive global network. The Internship Programme runs for three to six months, and we welcome applications all year round.
How to apply
To apply, click the 'Find a Vacancy' at the top of the page and submit your CV (Chinese and English), cover letter and academic transcripts to "Intern of Shanghai office" or "Intern of Beijing office".
We will offer you a stimulating environment where work will be demanding yet enjoyable. Both our clients and lawyers at the firm have commented extensively on the friendly yet professional interactions they have had with us. We also recognise that there is life beyond work and work hard to ensure that our lawyers and staff have the opportunity to pursue their interests and develop their skills both inside and outside of work.
In addition, we place a lot of importance on our participation in pro bono activities. The Pro Bono Committee is represented by people from different parts of the China offices. The committee co-ordinates a series of pro bono events and your participation in these activities is highly encouraged.
The Social Committee frequently plans a variety of events including movie nights, cooking classes, bowling nights and cruise trips.
Learning and development
The development of our graduates, junior lawyers, through to Senior Associate level practitioners and partners, is extremely important to us; and whilst qualifying as a lawyer is an important milestone, it is only part of your professional development at Allen & Overy.
