When I completed my LLB in Law with Politics at QUB, the idea of working for one of the world’s elite law firms didn’t really feature in my future plans. However, the opportunity exists, right on your doorstep in Belfast.

I joined the LSC when it first opened in January 2012. In the four years that I spent there the variety of professional experience that I gained was of the highest calibre. Whether it was working on a patent dispute between two global pharmaceutical giants, undertaking a three-month secondment to a global banking client in London or playing a key role in the sale of a loan portfolio – each day working for one of the world’s most innovative law firms provided new and exciting challenges.

I left the LSC in January 2016 to commence a training contract in A&O’s London office and have now qualified into the Banking team. The experience that I gained in the LSC was akin to any level of work that I have undertaken in London, both in terms of its variety and complexity. The experience gained and professional skills that I developed in the LSC held me in very good stead for a future career as a solicitor in the City of London.
