My decision to join A&O Consulting back in 2019 was a simple one. I knew that the A&O Consulting start-up environment positioned within an internationally recognised firm such as Allen & Overy, would give us both the credibility to serve clients and the agility to develop and drive innovative solutions. It’s not uncommon to hear our clients say they value our fresh perspective and hands-on industry experience – the strategic regulatory expertise of our consultants and our strong relationship with A&O's top-tier legal practice is truly a winning formula.

Every day at A&O is challenging and different (really, the exact reasons I joined!). One minute I could be developing insight on the latest regulatory trend; the next I’m embedded in a client engagement, with a fast approaching presentation for the client's Board. And what’s that around the corner? A pitch for an exciting new opportunity that is going to broaden my skillset and mean greater exposure to some of the client’s most influential buyers.

I’m currently working closely with a global financial services firm as the independent assurance expert on a significant enterprise-wide transformation program around risk, governance and culture. This project is receiving significant regulatory and Board scrutiny, and involves us reviewing hundreds of documents and conducting interviews with dozens of senior leaders. It has been demanding yet rewarding; it’s particularly great to see first-hand the impact, influence and value that A&O Consulting's advice has on the client in meeting their regulatory obligations, as well as customer outcomes.

Prior to A&O Consulting, I studied Biomedical Science, Mathematics and Law at Monash University then the University of Sydney. I found that my training in logic, analytics and critical thinking naturally attracted me to a career in consulting where I can solve business problems all day long. Following graduation, I spent several years at KPMG and EY in their respective risk consulting practices, where I had the opportunity to provide internal audit, risk management, contract governance and controls services to clients across the financial services, corporate and government sectors.

Regardless of rank or title, everyone in our team is encouraged to think strategically and provide input on the direction of A&O Consulting. I’m really enjoying being part of a high-performing team that is already shaping the future of the business world.
