Sophie specialises in employment law. She has extensive experience advising on various employment issues including individual and collective dismissals, transfers of undertaking, restructuring, outsourcing, flexible labour, restrictive covenants and data protection. Sophie advises companies on dismissals of (senior) management, (European) works council processes, harmonisation of employment conditions and cross border reorganisations, and provides employment law support on M&A transactions. She completed the Grotius postgraduate course on employment law (cum laude). She previously worked for 18 months in the Corporate department, primarily focusing on M&A with a particular focus on private equity.
Sophie graduated cum laude in Dutch private law and in Economics at Utrecht University. She studied at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis for one year. She joined Allen & Overy in September 2010.
