Simon has over 23 years’ experience in the United Arab Emirates. Simon has extensive experience in commercial matters in the UAE and the Middle East region in particular, advising on mergers and acquisitions transactions and joint venture contracts. His M&A experience includes the NBD/EBI merger, the sale of a strategic stake in Pakistan Telecom and the Al Futtaim Group acquisition.
Simon has extensive dispute resolution experience in the Middle East, including acting on international arbitrations before ICSID, the ICC, LCIA and DIAC. He successfully defended the UAE in ICSID arbitration and annulment proceedings and recently successfully defended a Dubai government department in the second largest claim currently registered with DIAC relating to a major redevelopment project in Dubai.
