Contact Details
Rick is a London-based senior associate in Allen & Overy's International Arbitration group. He specialises in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration.
Rick has acted for a range of corporation and State clients in cross-border commercial and investment treaty arbitrations under the major institutional rules, including the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, CIArb and ICSID Arbitration Rules. He has acted on a broad range of disputes, including in the energy, natural resources, TMT and hospitality sectors.
Rick also has substantial experience of litigation before the English courts and in providing clients with pre-arbitration advice. He obtained his higher rights in 2015.
Rick is currently advising two multinational companies in a London seated commercial arbitration and related litigation against the Government of India. He has recently acted on separate oil & gas disputes involving fields in the Middle East and Central Europe, and a telecoms dispute involving an African-based company.
Rick spent one year on secondment to the Singapore office of Allen & Overy (2011-2012) and six months on secondment at an Allen & Overy associated office in Romania (2010-2011).
Rick is the editor-in-chief of Allen & Overy’s International Arbitration Blog and in 2019 was appointed to the Young Arbitration Group’s Global Advisory Board for the Centre for International Investment and Commercial Arbitration in Pakistan.
