Niels De Waele

Senior Associate

Niels has extensive experience in advising financial institutions on a wide variety of regulatory matters, including prudential regulations, governance requirements and conduct of business rules applicable to credit institutions, investment firms, funds and fund managers, settlement institutions, (re)insurance undertakings, credit and insurance intermediaries and innovative FinTech and InsurTech entreprises.
He also practices in areas including securitisations, capital markets (focusing on regulatory capital matters), trade and receivables finance, cash pooling and restructuring of regulated groups. Niels also specialises in insurance regulations, including prudential regulations (Solvency II), conduct of business rules (MiFID-assurance) and product regulations (focusing on life insurance).
