Nick is an associate in the Firm’s International Environmental Law Group and International Trade and Regulatory Law Group. He advises clients on compliance, transactional risk management, and investigations related to environmental law, economic sanctions, and other international trade laws and regulations.
On the environmental side of the practice, Nick focuses on: assessing and allocating environmental risk in complex cross-border business transactions (including acquisitions and divestitures, project finance, general lending, capital markets and real estate transactions); advising corporations and financial institutions on a broad range of environmental and compliance risks (including in relation to ESG, climate change, supply chain management and public disclosure requirements); and handling disputes involving environmental indemnities and Superfund.
In addition, Nick has extensive experience advising on a broad range of compliance, transactional, and investigatory matters involving: U.S. and international economic sanctions (including in particular those administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the U.S. Departments of State and Commerce); national security risks posed by contemplated foreign investment into the U.S. (including in particular advising on and managing filings with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS)); the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anti-bribery/corruption issues in transactions and on a stand-alone basis; anti-boycott rules; and export controls.
