Michael's practice focuses on advising foreign sovereigns and multinational entities in public and private international law disputes.

Michael’s experience includes investment arbitrations before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), as well as in commercial arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). These cases have spanned various substantive areas, including renewable energy, infrastructure, oil and gas, transportation, and environmental regulation. Michael previously served as Assistant Legal Counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Netherlands, where he assisted the Court’s Secretary General and arbitral tribunals in inter-State, investor-State, and contract-based arbitrations.
