Jessica advises on all aspects of UK and EU competition law, including complex international merger control proceedings, cartel investigations and behavioural advice and on foreign direct investment regimes, including the UK National Security and Investment Act.

Jessica’s practice spans a broad range of sectors, with particular expertise in life sciences, energy and TMT.

Jessica recently spent six months on secondment to the UK Competition and Markets Authority developing post-Brexit competition policy and guidelines and sustainability-related policy. Jessica has also spent nine months on secondment to the firm's Brussels office.

Representative matters

Recticel on the UK Phase 2 merger control review of the sale of its engineered foams division to Carpenter.

21st Century Fox on the merger and UK regulatory aspects of its GBP27.7bn takeover bid for Sky and the subsequent GBP11.6bn sale of its 39% stake in Sky to Comcast, and separately on its proposed USD71bn acquisition by The Walt Disney Company.

Endemol Shine Group on EU and global merger control clearances of its sale to Banijay.

A multinational telecommunications company on merger control and FDI clearances for the establishment of a pan-European data centre platform.

Pro bono

Mental Health Ally and member of the A&O London Corporate Mental Health and Wellbeing Forum.

Member of the A&O London Corporate DE&I working group, chairing a sub-group on mentoring, coaching and development.
