Brussels based partner Inge Vanderreken advises clients on the full range of employment and incentive matters. She provides strategic advice and practical solutions whenever clients are faced with changes in the market, in regulations or within the organisation. Inge also assists clients on the employment aspects of corporate and outsourcing transactions and has considerable expertise on data protection and privacy issues. She also represents clients in court when required.
Her particular areas of expertise include employee benefits and incentives, workforce restructuring, redundancies and work councils. She regularly advises local and international clients on multi-jurisdictional employment matters and cross-border work councils (e.g. European work councils).
Clients favour her negotiation skills and her understanding of the business dimension, praising her ‘business acumen’ in the legal directories.
She has published and lectured on various aspects of employment law and incentives, including restructuring, outsourcing, incentive schemes, discrimination and privacy issues, and multi-jurisdictional employment matters. She is a member of the Board of the Brussels "Labour Law Association" (a group comprising in-house counsel, practising lawyers, magistrates and judges, all specialising in employment law) and a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA).

Experience highlights
Advising a leading international specialty chemicals group on a transfer of undertaking following the sale of part of its activities. We assisted in the negotiations and drafting of the contractual framework in a multitude of European jurisdictions. This included advice on transfer of undertakings regulations and negotiations with respect to the arrangements on the transfer of employees.
Advising an industrial company in negotiations with respect to a collective dismissal and closure of the company in a heavily unionised environment. This included preparing the process from the start, including strategy decisions, contingency and communication, full involvement in the information and consultation phase, design of a social plan and drafting of calculations, negotiations with the unions, full assistance with the implementation of the dismissals.
Advising a global speciality chemicals company on the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation in HR matters. This included a gap analysis report with recommendations to remedy any identified gaps, day-to-day advice on the implementation, drafting of a toolbox which included all relevant documents and assistance with the training of employees.
Advising a global manufacturer of plastic products and other construction materials in the implementation of a plant closure in Belgium.
