Edward Taelman

He has extensive experience of conducting IP litigation before the Belgian and European courts in a wide variety of sectors such as technology, media, consumer products and life sciences. He also assists clients in non-contentious matters in this field of expertise, including licensing agreements, franchise agreements and the IP aspects of corporate transactions. Edward also regularly advises clients on the Digital Regulation initiatives of the European Union, such as the Digital Services Act, the Platform-2-Business Act, the AI Act and the New Deal for Consumers.

Edward is a member of AIPPI, the INTA Brand Restrictions Committee and of the editorial board of IE-forum.be, a specialised website that collects all recent European and Belgian jurisprudence on IP rights. He regularly speaks on intellectual property topics and has been quoted in the past by both Belgian and international press on IP and Digital Regulation topics.
