Allen & Overy has advised BNP Paribas Securities (Asia) Limited (BNP Paribas) as the sole underwriter on the rights issue by Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed SJM Holdings Limited (SJM Holdings), as part of SJM Holdings’ HKD5 billion (USD637 million) fund raising in preparation for its gaming licence renewal in Macau. SJM Holdings is a leading owner, operator and developer of casinos and integrated entertainment resorts in Macau.
The team was led by Hong Kong-based partner Jonathan Hsui, with the support of Hong Kong-based Michelle Tsang and Rachel Chan, as well as Singapore-based partner Alexander Stathopoulos and Hong Kong-based partner Kung-Wei Liu of A&O’s U.S. securities team. Ivan Huang based in Shanghai* also provided support to the transaction.
