The firm was congratulated in particular for their work in the past year in advising the Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee on the settlement of credit derivative transactions (CDS) referencing the Russian Federation. The Determinations Committee successfully held the auction to settle the CDS contracts in a complex and rapidly evolving global sanctions landscape, ensuring safe and efficient functioning of the market.
There was also praise for the firm on the market-leading work being done in the sustainability and ESG sphere, including acting on a variety of sustainability-linked transactions and developing white papers on emissions allowance trading, voluntary carbon credits and collateral management.
A&O’s International Capital Markets group has also been at the forefront of thinking surrounding technology and innovation, including in particular the deployment of blockchain and digital assets in capital markets. Our capital markets team works closely with our global cross-disciplinary digital assets team which has benefitted from significant growth from the addition of digital asset specialists across our offices in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, New York and Washington.
