Allen & Overy announces the nomination of Laurie-Anne Ancenys as Young Leader of the France China Foundation

For the ninth year, the France China Foundation has announced the French winners of its Young Leaders programme, which aims at promoting exchanges between French and Chinese high potential leaders from various backgrounds. Thanks to their leadership and achievements, they will play an important role in their countries as well as in Franco-Chinese relationships. This 2021 promotion includes 13 laureates aged 25 to 45, based in France and China, who will have to deal with today’s major issues at the highest level, such as energy transition, industrial sovereignty, innovation or digitalisation.

Created during the summer 2012, the France China Foundation is a non-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to encourage the confrontation of points of view, the development of relationships between French and Chinese leaders, to stimulate their interest in the other country and to inspire them to set up joint projects.

Laurie-Anne Ancenys has been selected to join this community of nearly 200 alumni, establishing a lasting link at a time when Franco-Chinese relations are in the spotlight.

Biography

Laurie-Anne Ancenys holds a double master’s degree in French law and Spanish law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Complutense University of Madrid, and an LLM in Intellectual Property and Information Society Law. 

Laurie-Anne Ancenys is a member of the Paris and Madrid Bars and a Solicitor in England. She heads the Tech & Data practice of the Paris office of the business law firm Allen & Overy, which has more than 40 offices worldwide, including in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. 

Specialised in technology law and data protection, Laurie-Anne Ancenys advises French and international clients on the digitalisation of their activities, the establishment of strategic partnerships, as well as on cybersecurity issues, data monetisation and the launch of online products and services. She notably assists Chinese tech giants. 

Laurie-Anne Ancenys has developed a specific expertise in the drafting and negotiation of complex IT contracts, and is frequently involved in M&A transactions. 

She also advises companies on strategic litigation, and in the context of investigations, audits or sanction proceedings initiated by regulators. 

Laurie-Anne Ancenys has been named Rising Star in the IFLR Europe 2020 and Euromoney 2021 rankings. 

In addition, Laurie-Anne Ancenys gives lectures at HEC Paris.
