Allen & Overy advises Gaylon Lawrence on the acquisition of Château Lascombes

Allen & Overy has advised Gaylon Lawrence on the acquisition of Château Lascombes, Second Grand Cru Classé of the Margaux appellation, from the MACSF group (Mutuelle d’Assurance du Corps de Santé Français), which continues to be involved as a minority partner.

Historically significantly present in the agricultural sector with more than 46,000 hectares of cultivable land, Gaylon Lawrence has assembled a significant portfolio in the wine industry in California since 2018, with the successive purchases of Heitz Cellar then several major appellations of the Napa Valley whose management was entrusted to his company Lawrence Wine Estates, managed by Master Sommelier Carlton McCoy.

The Château Lascombes vineyard covers 120 hectares in the Margaux appellation, as well as 10 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation. Today, it is one of the largest vineyards among the classified growths of 1855, with an average annual production of 300,000 bottles.
